What mice and chocolate milk can teach us about memory

There are dozens of apps selling us on improving our memories. But researchers at Rice University say the answer may be a bit simpler.

They recently published a study with Michigan Medicine looking at how brains form and keep memories. It’s an experiment that involved rats and some chocolate milk.

In the audio above, Caleb Kemere tells Houston Matters producer MaggieMartin that taking time to reflect on what we’ve experienced might help improve our memory. Kemere is an assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at Rice University and co-author of the study.
